Tornatore's 'Baarìa - la porta del vento'
Leningrad's project has to wait, because Tornatore said in an interview some days ago that the movie he's filming at the time in Tunisi, "Baarìa - la porta del vento", is "his most personal movie", closed to Cinema Paradiso, and the main character's name is "Peppino"! (authobiographic?)
Baarìa, said Tornatore, is "full of nostalgia and melancholy, as Cinema Paradiso". There's something politic and the plot is set in fourty years, from 1930 to 1970, across the view of three generations: the parents of a boy, Peppino, the boy himself and the boy's son.
This project has cost 20 euro millions, it has been involved into a set bigger than Gangs of New York and it has 20,000 appearances and 200 actors between main Characters and cammeos.
The movie will be released in Sicilian language in Sicily (december 2008) and probably all over the world, while it will be released in italian language in the rest of Italy.
I believe it is going to become one of the most beautiful movies by Peppuccio!
