Is the watch malfunction foreshadowing?

I am referring to the presentation scene in which Jason and Cynthia attempt to sell the group on Eden.

Cynthia shares all the different activities that are available to guests of the resort including couples building exercises. She does reassure everyone that they do not have to participate in the couples portion should they choose otherwise. As Jason explains to everyone how they will have an awesome time he pulls his hands out of his pockets to reveal that the linked watch on his right wrist has come unfastened. He goes on to reach across and re-fasten it as he continues his speech.

At first I thought this was a mistake while filming that the director chose to keep as Bateman works through it so naturally, it almost kind of gives the scene some realism as in real life not everything happens without minor hiccups. But then as I began listening to the commentary during the mishap and I started to think that this may be a bit of foreshadowing. As the clasp becomes "undone" they are describing this perfect vacation trip in which everyone can participate in the activities of their choosing and do not have to succumb to the couples building. Of course we soon find out that the description they are selling also becomes "undone" as the watch does.

I have a tendency to overthink things like this, is this simply a filming error or a good bit of subtle foreshadowing?
