A he took her case coz of the sentimental reason, i.e going through the medical condition himself, and B he was super rich (driving convertible rolls royce) and didnt need this petty amount and would have been an excellent gesture if he gave it back after it after all it was only a little girl who never lived her life for herself until then and sold her necklace (he didnt know about the necklace but should have wondered how she produced such a large amount for a kid). not to mention there is something called pro bono plus she won the case to add to his 91% success rate, but he JUST chose to use some nice words at the end...
