It was OK/average. I laughed a few times, but you know what you're getting into here. I had no idea what "catfished" meant so I did learn something. I also think candles scented for men is a great idea!

I guess the one thing I struggled with was that she took all the blame at the end. She admits to the family that she was "catfished" and then all the things that she does. Yet, nobody from the family said to the guy, hey you shouldn't pretend to be someone else or put up a fake profile pic on a dating site. I thought the dad was going to talk to him about it and forgive him for it and tell him he was there no matter what, but nope everyone just seemed to be fine with it.

Overall, I enjoyed it, but the other niggling point is that Tag gets no resolution... he was a genuinely nice guy who got screwed over by the situation. He just wanders off-screen and we never hear from him again.

Yeah it's a really weird movie and in the times of MeToo I'm kind of surprised this hasn't gotten some backlash. The guy is constantly portrayed as the victim in some weird incel type vibe of "Oh no woman wants me because all they go for is looks so I had to do this" it's yeah pretty messed up, especially when we see his profile pics later and they are horrible because as the girl said they make him look like a serial killer, no girl is liking the guy whose main photo is him holding an ax in front of him and rope in another.

I was waiting for the moment where Josh really gets called out for everything and he never does, it's all awww poor guy, rather than, dude wtf are you doing this is so wrong you are disgusting and you need to get help what you did is a massive violation and you should be ashamed.

Well she does call him out for it multiple times throughout the film, just Tag and the family do not.

Yet she still stays and then “falls in love” with him. She’s played off as the bad one not him because awww he’s just trying to find love but he’s not attractive enough that’s all.

Natalie always blamed men for her dating problems. Her boss points this out a few times in the movie. The thing is when you alway blame your problems on other people, you don’t have to change, or learn from your mistakes, because it’s never your fault. If Natalie just blamed Josh at the end, she would continue to dismiss quality men because she feels entitled to some Mr. perfect that doesn’t exist.

The end part was about Natalie looking at herself, and taking responsibility for what she had been doing wrong. Josh already did this as soon as she showed up at his house. Shifting the blame to him at the point only serves as a deflection, and that isn’t what she was trying to do.

I think Josh was the better person out of the two of them, but I think having him get the girl after catfishing her sends the wrong message.
