shareSeems like he was pretty fair and open-minded to the character he portrayed in the movie. I have to admit I was surprised by the interview but we all benefit from trying to put ourselves in the other guy’s shoes sometimes.
shareHe's a closet Repub, though probably not a Trumper. His roles all carefully tread the line of standing with the other side, but very much in that muddy grey area of doing what needs to be done. Most folks are in middle i'm sure. We're just left with these god awful extreme choices by the system.
Thanks for sharing, I always appreciate that Damon at least puts thought into the roles he takes.
He's not anything close to a Republican (well, let's say Conservative, because almost all elected Republicans are shitbags). He was next door neighbors with Noam Chomsky and that guys programming took to young Damon quite well. In 1994's Good Will Hunting, there is a blatant shout-out to Chomsky during his first meeting with Robin Williams psychologist.
Matt Damon is a superb actor, and one of my favorites, but there is no delusion that he is hiding some right-winger sensibilities.
He had sex with his sister?
