I'm flying out to California in a few weeks for the weekend. Funny thing is, I reserved the flight exactly 3 hours before completely coincidentally stumbling upon this movie just now on TBS, 100% serious! I felt really proud of myself while watching the movie, haha.

I'd love to do it, but I'm not rich, who knows where you could end up? I don't have the money to just jump on some random flight and neither do a lot of people.

But that's not really the point of the film. If you're not rich then you just go to the airport (or bus station, or train station) and ask for the first ticket available that's within your budget.
There's no rule that says you have to spend money or stay a long time when you get to your destination.
