Carrey starts out as a miserable loser who's life is going nowhere and doesn't seem to be getting what he wants. Then something divine happens: he finds a magical mask, can't lie for a day, develops schizophrenia, gets godlike powers, or joins a cult where he can't say no. All of a sudden now everything is going right. But then something bad happens as a result of his intervention; he gets found guilty for the masks crimes, gets himself in trouble for telling the truth in court, blames the girl he wants for having sex with his alter ego, has his girlfriend catch him unwillingly kissing another girl while his godlike decisions are going poorly, or his new squeeze finds out he is only with her because he has to be. Then the intervention is lost as he loses the mask, regains the ability to lie, gets his schizophrenia removed, takes away his godlike powers, or decides it is okay to say no once in a while. In all these occasions he ends up with the girl and in the one film he actually had the girl at the beginning (bruce almighty) he ends up engaged.
Jim Carrey is very talented but while I think you could rank the Mask, Liar Liar, Me Myself and Irene, or Bruce Almighty in any order, any logical argument should put this film as #5 on the list.
Are you kidding??? This no doubt no matter what you think of the film good or bad most rabid fans will rank this in the worst top 3 carrey comedys EVER.
Dark Knight is the worst movie ever, The villain died before it even came out.
"Sorry didn't know it was based on a book and might I add how much is the movie really based/like it and what exactly is it about anyway?"
The books is actually a true story by a british guy called Danny Wallace. It's a great book which I really reccomend.
The film is based very loosely on it, in fact only a few aspects of the book were kept in the film. This isn't a bad thing in my opinion - I'm glad they only took the main premise of a guy saying 'Yes to everything' and making a story out of it, rather than just copying the book. It wouldn't translate too well into American cinema.
In the book Danny actually meets a guy on a bus who tells him to say yes more. Danny kinda eccentric, so he decides to test himself to see if he can do it - and the rest is history. Seriously, get it - it'll be cheap second hand.
Danny Wallace is NOTHING like Jim Carrey either - not at all.
yeah OP they are 100% the smae movie, like how in liar, liar he is a divorced father, lawyer who by a magical wish his forced to not lie for one day by his child, and in this he is a divorced banker, who is a closed person who is told to say yes to everything...oh wait they aren't the same.
Don't worry, I saw Lord of the Rings. I'm not going to end this 17 times.
