The guy who wrote the book - did he really do this, and is the book an account of his actual experiences, or was it made up for comedy value? Does anyone know?

Danny Wallace a British humorist claimed he said yes when in the ordinary course of life he would had said no, for six months and the described the events in his book. This implies he did not always said Yes.
