'Have dinner tomorrow?' at end of bridal shower scene
Anyone get the back and forth between Carl and Peter? "I am looking forward to it." "Me too." "It's all I can think about!" What was that about?

shareDunno, I thought it was a little curious too. Perhaps Carl was merely making the point that he really wanted to be at dinner and wasn't just saying yes because of the covenant.
When I said I wanted to be a comedian, they all laughed at me. Well, they're not laughing now!

Just playful exaggeration, I do it all the time
shareIt seemed like an improvised dialogue, to be honest.
shareat first i thought it was weird too, then i realized they were prolly just improvising...but i don't know why that part made the final cut, it was just strange and seemed outta place to me.

This whole thread basically has it wrong. It was just a cheesy exchange, it wasn't a joke about how it's a big deal or sexual innuendo. During the start of the movie, Carl makes excuses for reasons not to go out with his friends, because he would rather sit at home by himself. After the bridal shower, he has changed so much from the course of the movie, that him saying yes to the dinner is different from what he'd say earlier in the film. The emphasis is on that he actually wants to go and will go, and not just because of the covenant.
shareThey probably meant Guy's night out.
Nothing like a nighttime stroll to give you ideas.
