The source for that percentage is pretty vague...
Movie theaters usually take close to 50% of gross ticket sales. It's hard to believe the studio would settle for something like only 15% of ticket as profit if half automatically goes to theaters.
I think it's more likely that he gets 36.2% of actual profit by studio: (114 - 70 - ??MARKETING)*0.362
It's possible theater's cut is lower though.
Jerry Lewis said the movie theaters make 1/2 percent. Thats why popcorn is 8
dollars in the theatre.
