The Missionaries

I wonder what happened after he finished the discuassions with the Missionaries. Since he was saying yes to everything... After the last discussion, they will ask if you want to, are ready to, or are willing to be baptized.
Of course, this could have happened well after the movie's time line was finished, as they might have only given him a lesson every week, or once every two weeks, depending on their schedule. Obviously, he would have had to say yes, each time a discussion was over, and they asked him to set up another appointment.
Just an interesting thought, anyway.
I'm a member of the church, but it wasn't the missionary discussions that got me to join. It took me some time, and serious thought, as to what I wanted to do with my religious life, and if I was ready to stop drinking, smoking, etc...

Signed, Me.

It would appear that he freaked them out and they didn't stay to leave a commitment and/or follow up. All he had to do was offer them beer or something and they may have booked it out the door.

On a side note. I feel like this movie pokes fun at religion. The televangelist guy has Carl make a "covenant" with himself, the Missionaries, the topic of being true to oneself, honesty regarding your intentions... Very intriguing movie overall.
