The scene where Zooey shoots the shotgun

She shoots one shell into the ground, and one into the clay pigeon. She has a double barrel shotgun. So 2 - 2 = 0. So if she has 0 shots left, why did the guys behind her get all scared when she pointed it at them? They seem to know what they are doing, but then they dont all of a sudden.

Im the boss.

It's a natural reflex when trap or skeet shooting. If ****anyone**** turns a barrel 90 degrees or more, everyone jumps. You just don't do it, regardless of whether you believe you have an empty gun or not. They were getting some set up lessons, so the natural tendency is to keep an eye on the newbies and I certainly don't count how many shots they've taken - if they turn 90 degrees or more, I would have reacted exactly the same way!

So if someone points a gun at you, you ain't gonna flinch, even if you know its empty? I know I'd duck out of pure instinct. I ain't pausing to tally the previous gunshots.

reply

id feel uncomfortable but i would not flinch, no

COMA COMA COMA COMA COMA CHAMELEON!

reply

well hopefully you never find yourself in the position where a gun is pointed at you, loaded or not....it's definitely flinch worthy...trigun78 must be the actor that played that douche boyfriend in the bar scene, all macho and everything.

Safety thing, at shooting ranges you're never supposed to keep the gun pointed anywhere but downrange and you NEVER point it at the other people... somebody probably should have told her that, lol

reply

Shouldn't Zooey have felt a lot more recoil, and been pushed back a bit more?
She doesn't hardly weigh much (and I love her for that! Oh, and not to mention that oh so pretty face.).

reply

Because gun safety rule number 1 is that every gun is a loaded gun.
