salut?

I noticed that in one part, Juliette and Lea etc. were saying goodbye to this man (i think it was lea's husband) and they were saying "Salut". I had no idea that "salut" meant goodbye, aswell as "Hi."

Anyone else notice this?

Thanks - I did French up until Year 10 and did not know that!

They don't usually teach these things in French class because they are colloquial.

Well I thought it was a term used when you raised your glasses to drink, like Cheers, and that the husband was referring to the fact they were going out to eat/drink, and was meaning 'Enjoy'.

But then I come from New Zealand, where French class is not comulsory and taken by few.
