But when watching this I couldn't help thinking this would be a terrific project for Sigourney Weaver if they ever made an American remake.

Sigourney Weaver is a fine actress.

Yes she is, but in a totally different style, I couldn't see her doing anything like the job required here though.

Kristen Scott Thomas was probably the best person to play this role.

I think Weaver could have pulled it off, but not nearly as well as Thomas.

IF an English remake were to ever be done, Kristin Scott Thomas should be in that one as well. Full stop.
