Michel's arrival at the end

My interpretation of Michel's arrival at the end is that he has changed from the nonforgiver and is seeking, and will obtain, a reconciliation with his wife, formerly regarded by him as a murderer. That interpretation of the ending absolves Juliette from guilt concerning the suicide of the parole officer, in that her marriage finally is salvagable and an extramarital relationship would have been an interference as well as an adultery.

Her husband?!? I thought Michel was the potential boyfriend that worked with her sister at the University?? His arrival showing that she was now 'there', in comparison to her telling him 'don't, I'm not there yet' earlier in the film.

You're right. There was no husband return here.

i know juliette tells michel 'im not there yet,' when he takes her home, but i know at the start of the film, when lea first brings juliette home to her house, lea says to juliette 'im so glad you're here.' and juliette seems so distant/shellshocked and does not respond. so at the end michel comes to visit, asks 'is anyone here?' juliette's reply is 'i am.' or so i thought. or 'i am here' and looks at her sister as if to finally reply 'i am here now and glad i am here too.' and i ready to return to the land of the living etc...
