I haven't seen the original. Are the dance scenes better in the original

?? Because the dancing in this film was really weak :/ Or maybe my expectations were too high because I think Kenny is an amazing dancing and so is julianne.....

You have to remember, the film has to be realistic because they're all supposed to be high school students. A lot of real life high schoolers aren't great dancers, they're bad.

Julianne and Kenny had to restrict themselves on giving it their all to make the film realistic as possible.

In the original, Kevin Bacon had a dance double and didn't do much of his dancing, especially during the angry dancer. Ariel in the original movie doesn't even DANCE...

They had to do deprive themselves and go for the realistic route. This isn't your typical dance movie, it's about expressing yourself.

Don't forget to breathe.

I never knew this. Why then did they not pick more attractive actors? I thought they chose the two leads in the original based on their dancing.

Well Zac Efron was the original pick but he dropped out, then Chase Crawford was cast, but he dropped out. Both of those guys are very attractive. But I also think that Kenny Wormald is very attractive. And are you insinuating that Julianne Hough isn't attractive?? I only wish I were a tenth as attractive as she is. She actually beat out very well-known actresses for her part (Miley Cyrus, Hayden Panettiere, Amanda Bynes).

I completely agree with csaheboi14..they must have really "dumbed" down the dancing to make it more realistic. Which totally makes sense. When the movie was over I was like, wow for being such an amazing professional dancer, Julianne Hough sure didn't dance a whole lot! But after reading csaheboi14's response, it makes more sense.
