funny took 8 million to make the original and they made 80,000,000 the remake took $24,000,000 to make and they only made $50,000,000 when will hollywood learn to stop messing with classics?
rememeber if they did not have an original they could not remake it.
Numbers aside I don't think it was a bad film. I was only a year old when the original came out, but my mother liked the film so I saw it a lot growing up. While I do like the original better, the 2011 is a great update for a younger crowd. I think the two stand side by side almost equally.
