I understand what they were trying to do but I don't think they should have used some of the old songs/country music mixed with rap and grinding, I know they were trying to appeal with everyone but it just seems crazy to do that. What do you think?
I loved the music. Throughout the entire movie I kept thinking how I can't wait to get the soundtrack! I mean, I love the original songs too...the original Footloose and the songs will always have a place in my heart, but I really loved what they did to change up the songs. Now let me make it clear that I'm not into hard core rap by any means, but I really enjoyed the songs in this movie. Especially "Holding Out for a Hero"..wow..the way they re-did that...amazing.
Try an experiment, put these two to show the ones who never watched both versions before, and implement questionnaire which one they love, definitely, most will answer the 80's.
Have you ever heard about "alternative universes", this version is made to fit the ones living in the other universe where they would never likely see the "original version".
