Country singer JULIANNE HOUGH has reportedly been ordered to take acting classes to secure her role in the upcoming FOOTLOOSE remake.
The pretty blonde - a regular on TV show Dancing With The Stars - is said to be in negotiations to take on the part Lori Singer played in the 1984 Kevin Bacon film, alongside Gossip Girl actor Chace Crawford.
But New York Post PageSix reports the star has yet to sign a contract with Paramount movie bosses, who have insisted she improve her acting abilities before they commit her to the role.
A source tells the publication, "(Her audition) was so bad, the producers sent her off to take acting classes.
I don't know what movies you all have seen, but I've seen some BAD acting and some BAD movies...and considering this was her first "starring" role, she wasn't half bad! People should cut her some slack.
You said it better than I could have, lei3. Her performance wasn't the best of 2011 by ANY means, but like you said... It was her very first role. For a first-time actress, she was pretty damn good.
Omgosh! I open my mouth and a little purse falls out!
I thought Hough was one of the best things about this movie. (That sounds like a real back-handed compliment...don't mean in that way!) But the script is horrible and she makes her scenes have more depth to them than the writer did. Plus I think she has a charisma that I'm looking to see more of on the big screen. She has two upcoming movies, both with her in the lead role. One directed by Lasse Hallstrom and the other written by Diablo Cody. Can't wait to see what she does with some better material.
Eewww, no - I'm watching this now and all I can think about is how did this person get a job in acting?! And I think she's really unattractive - she acts like one of those girls who thinks she's god's gift just because she puts on lots of makeup, gets her hair done, wears tight jeans and gyrates a lot.
