This movie makes them sound like a bunch of anti-Bible wanton teenagers committing every transgression that the bible preaches against. Now, I am not from the bible belt so I won't know, but that's totally opposite to the perception I have.
So, is this yet another Hollywood's attempt to destroy the Bible Belt?

Bible Belt girls in general, no. This is a fair representation of a stereotypical preacher's daughter, though. I've grown up in the Bible Belt and pretty much every preacher's kid I've been friends with has been a rebellious pain in the butt, hahaha.
shareI agree, but I, even from Texas,... the preachers kid was always the worst.The guy I hung with back in the 70's was the ministers son and he was a motorcycle doper. Some movies are better not remade.Especially if the female main singer sounds like a chip monk. Julianne Hough sounds like a chip monk.She really sucks and ruined the nexted movie she made. Tom Cruise couldnt even help the movie.
Yes. You both are right. I used to live across the street from a preacher and his family. Myself and his DAUGHTER, yep his daughter grew up together and used to be close. Then we became teenagers and she became a deviant. I remember one time I got blamed for her sneaking out of her window to meet guys because I went with her. I drove her there but I didn't know she had snuck out. So I left her with the guys, she apparently knew them. And I got into trouble by her parents not my own. My parents knew where I was going but nonetheless I wasn't allowed to see her for 2 years after. It wasn't the same and she never told them, she was the one who wanted to go see them. Talk about a pain in the ass!!
shareMy theory in raising a child is that if you are to strict your child will rebell against you and if you have no rules they will pretty much do the same. So I guess that a preacher’s daughter would have quite a strict upbringing and when becoming a teenager they will be likely to break some of the ties and make their own experiences.
