Number 2 was not good. The build up of tension was gone, the acting was bad, and it played a weak hand at the end by explaining too much.
The 3rd attempted to add the tension back and had a great set up when the actress went into the basement on a dare.
It suffered from a poorly executed massacre and the limbo aspect. I'm not against it, but the set up and explanation didn't work.
Oh well, it wasn't a total loss.
