The townsfolk making up shit and blaming Laurie for what Michael did

That was one of the most annoying things in the movie was these people just flat out making up shit and Laurie standing there acting as if it was true and saying nothing.

The black lady at the store said "You tempted and provoked that man when you should've left him alone" Ok when exactly did Laurie tempt and provoke Michael? I'm drawing a blank, Sartain is the one who brought Michael to her house, Laurie had no part in Michael being there at all. She was out actively trying to stop him from killing, he escaped and started killing before Laurie even saw him.

Then the Radio DJ was saying "She teased a man with brain damage and then he snapped" when the fuck did this happen? And who had brain damage? That was just beyond dumb and made no sense.

It would be one thing for the people of the town to have legit true reasons for why they dislike or blame Laurie, but they was making shit up. Its like in this movie they envisioned a great plot of the town hating Laurie for what happened, but had no actual reasons for them to blame her and just made up shit because they was too lazy to come up with anything that made sense.
