That's for me the mission of this movie, but I am pretty sure it's gonna be a mess where nothing is explained. I mean, the Akkad family has been exploiting this saga for 40 years and they should explain what happens with Michael, but they won't because that would mean comingo into psychological/esoteric themes they don't understand and feel would harm the sales of the movie... A pity, because The Shape is for me the best horror villain ever.
shareI think it's better left unexplained. They should bring Loomis back for the final scene, he should be the one who ends Michaels Halloween. A zombie Loomis would be awesome, and who gives a shit if it's a little over the top because it's the last film in this continuity.

Even if they do explain it, it won't be cannon for me and I'm sure others. If the sibling angle, curse of the thorn plot, etc, etc can be uncannonized, then whatever shit they serve up here will get the same treatment.
I don't feel one is needed. If they do, great. But I personally don't need an explanation.
