status of this film?

Has it actually been filmed yet? Because I've not seen anything indicating it has. Which makes for a release this fall not necessarily realistic, given the state of things.

Covid

But that’s never going away tho.

Whether or not Covid will go away wasn't what I was getting at.

I remember the director or someone was saying they're very adamant it *will* be released in theaters only, and this October. So they seem set. But still can't release a film that's not made yet.

EDIT: Also they've said they plan to incorporate Covid. Which I feel meh about. I understand entertainment trying to be relatable. But I like my movies as escapism generally. Because I can't relate to being targeted by a psycho anyway. So Covid is best left to things already relatable, like The Conners. Because so help me if Michael has Covid and uses it as an extra weapon.

I don't think filming has began.

It was reported on 7th December 2021 that Kyle Richards had signed on to be in Halloween Ends. So some contracts where only being finalized a month back.

As for the release date. 10 months to get it filmed, edited and touched up then marketed should be doable.

For reference, Halloween Kills began filming on 16th September 2019 and was finished by 3rd November 2019. Which shows you the time frame to shoot a film like this, nothing too major. If filming begins soon they could well have nearly 8 months to cover post-production, marketing and distribution.

However you are right, there is a possibility this film gets pushed back to October 2023. As they seem keen on October/Halloween season releases for these films which makes sense.
