They should keep things closer to the vest. Basically we've been told that the stakes in Halloween Kills won't be very high.

And why try to make the claim that this is the last one now as if anyone believes that.

My guess is it'll be the last one in this particular continuity. After that they'll do another continuity or tack on to a former one. As these franchises do.

That’s probably not the point they’re trying to make. For all you know, they could be poking fun at these “final chapter” titles in horror movies.

Nah its the old. "Last one, so this is the one that really counts" marketing scam. No pokeing fun intended.

It doesn't really bother me. Just knowing two sequels are going to exist, doesn't mean you can't enjoy the first sequel. Once they'd announced Halloween Kills, the audience has already been opened up to the idea of sequels being made so why not announce them together?

Besides, we don't know how it's going to go down. Maybe Kills and Ends will form a two-part story arc?
