DVD in GB

Hi.

I asbsolutely loved this movie and have been waiting what seems an eternity to get it on DVD in England. Does anybody know anything about its availability?

i bought the french version in Paris last week, it has english subtitles. you can get it from amazon france

The other day I watched the DVD (bought in France) but unfortunately the English subtitles are heavily 'Americanized' and it spoils it a bit. Plus the English 'comedy' subtitles during all the Ch'tis dialogue is also a little bit over the top. They also translate 'dog' as 'fish' so that it makes more sense, apparently. It would be nice if they released a DVD with British English subtitles. I enjoyed it more when I ignored the current English subtitles (I am ok with French). The DVD also has subtitles in Ch'tis, if that's any help.

My french is not too bad either and I know what you mean, but it is always difficult to do direct translation of jokes isn't it, and especially difficult to make jokes around pronunciation of certain words that sound like other words!!.. so I'm not sure British subtitles would make that much difference. Luckily a lot of the humour is visual, so it is still possible to enjoy it.

Wow, well thanks to all there. The film holds great significance to my girlfriend, friends and myself, so just getting hold of the DVD will be terrific regardless of any shortcomings there may be.

I have ordered it from Amazon France and cant wait. Although that seems an obvious place to find it I would never have thought about getting it from there. Been searching all over the usual outlets for it. I am really surprised it hasnt had a UK release when you consider some of the awful and unpopular French films that have.
