the script is so poor, so obvious and "politically correct" that is ridiculous
the directing is insipid, all is "deja-vu" with no idea and, more serious, big mistake
and the editing...hahaha! editing? my god, what a shame!(i don't blame the editor which do what he can with director's shots) why there is so many people in france that claims "i'm a director" and take deplorable shots that they don't even know how to edit?
this movie is a shame for all french professionals and storyteller that love their job and work hard because there is NO WORK AT ALL on this movie, it have been made by a bunch of lazy clown

When you talk about the editing, please explain what sequences in the film were poorly edited. I say that because i really don't understand how you can bring down a comedy that gets its impact on dialogues because of its editing.
This is no kung-fu movie not is it citizen kane 2.
This film was made to be light, not to be analized frame by frame lol.

i talk for example, about the sequence when Boon wake up Abrams, after the first night, there is error worthy of a DV house movie, this film is weak because of the directors lack of talent
and yes the film is made to be light and IT IS very very very light, but you need to see each frame just like you need to read all words in a book, even a light book and if you write good dial then make a radiophonic piece but you need a litle more work to direct a movie
I just ask myself : where are the 11 million euro??? who have been paid and where is the works?? ----> NOT on the screen!

Oh yeah because someone doesn't like this movie he's a troll ? Well I fully agree with cyberscriptor.

Wow that's what I've been wondering since the day I knew of the budget, I mean with Ne le dis à personne (wich even cost a little less) OK, the movie used a lot of shooting locations and there was a bunch of famous actors, but this ? Did they pay Galabru 10 millions for his minute on screen or what ?

This movie cost 11 million euros??? WTF?? In Belgium and Holland we make comedies like this too (same poor quality I'm affraid) and they can be done for 10% of that budget.

I really enjoyed this movie! At certain points, I was crying from laughing so hard... you need to lighten up.

ok I agree that the editing wasn't spectacular, or very remarkable, but it wasn't horrible either. It was just "normal" editing... Why should they edit a comedy of this kind in a very original, dying to be special way? It would just take the focus of the jokes and the story!

Hi,
The flight attendant on Air France told me it was funny and a huge hit. Not the funniest (The Dinner Game and The Valet come to mind). I did laugh,though but the flight ended before I could finish. What happened? Did he get the transfer and leave or did he get one and stay? Or did he never get the transfer and had to stay?
I'd appreciate a reply.

he got a transfer, and went, together with his wife and son. But he and the others still stayed friends and he said he'd come to visit.

Not the most spectacular ending, but alright.

The dinner game is a very mean movie where people make fun of other's "stupidity" Both these movies are comedies but you can't compare them. Bienvenue chez les ch'tis was made to be a happy movie where people have a good time. It doesnt have any sarcasm, it is just happy so one should take it as it is. Dany Boon didnt make it to be a oscar winner or anything, he made it because he wanted to share his happiness and the memories of his youth with people.

Hey, this film is pretty good but The Dinner Game is pretty frikkin hilarious.
