Why the comedy?
The first Thor was so good. It had a laughable moment here and there but kept it mythical and filled with drama and wonder. Now Thor is just a bad punch line every other sentence.

They had to find the roof of too much comedy so they know where to dial back to the sweet spot. I think this was actually intentional by the runners of the MCU. You don't know how much comedy the audience really wants until they puke.
share'Ragnarok' had more comedy than the first two films. It also made more money and got better reviews than either one, so they probably thought that is what audiences wanted. I don't mind humor or even goofiness in the MCU, but they have to know by now that people don't want this kind of slapstick humor anymore between this and She-Hulk.
