The sequence of getting audio for the first time with the director losing his sh-t....

was hilarious. Anyone trying to get good clean sound will tell you that was spot on and too funny! Especially back then with the limited audio range of the equipment. And that poor guy dies in that hot box. Actually quite a few people died in making movies back then!

Definitely the best scene in the movie, I wish the rest of the movie was like that

Also the scene where they shot a movie in the desert was quite original. The opening and final scenes too. I didn't care for the rest.

I was just going to make a thread about that scene. I thought people would find it that it went for way too long.

I bet the director, the editor and the studio must have gone through multiple versions until they got it right.

The movie is uneven but some scenes like that one are really well made.

The guy in the box was not the audio guy, he was the cinematographer. The cameras were so loud that they needed to be put in boxes to not destroy the audio.

Who said he was the audio guy?

But yeah I bet they were really loud like certain modern IMAX cameras.
