Is this all that different from a baby boy being circumcised?

Seems brutal in similar ways - yet to many Americans and others around the world, it's just what gets done.

Seen from a culture who doesn't circumcise, circumcision would seem barbaric!

Yeah, guy's still retain much of the sensation - so it's still not totally similar, but in many ways seems like it.

Circumcision for a female is nothing but suffering, there are no positive sides to it. For a male it's an advantage in terms of hygiene and it won't ruin males sex life. Ofcourse if the operation is being performed without anesthesia with a razorblade on a rock, it might ruin a lots of stuff for the boy too.
