Was this movie a flop or did it do good ?
?
shareStill early days.
It's got a $100 million budget and had a domestic opening weekend of $44 million.
Latest news is that it's second weekend will be the second lowest drop off for any 2023 blockbuster release, which is huge news. Means it's holding well and isn't dropping off a cliff.
Current worldwide gross is $125 million per TheNumbers. A general rule of thumb is a movie needs to make 2.5x it's budget to become profitable (this is only theatrical, when you factor in digital and home media a movie that falls a bit short of this metric can still be profitable especially movies with a lot of merchandise, namely children's toys).
Looks like it'll do fine in the end. Not a flop though not a smash hit either.
Its opening is similar to the marvels, but with better legs, though its international performance is much worse, even lagging behind domestic numbers.
I think it will finish around $200 mil, similar to the marvels, but with $100 mil budget compared to $200 mil of the marvels, and future digital revenue, I think this movie should be considered a modest financial success.
Flop. Made $125 million so far but cos $100 million to make. Add marketing costs and it’s deep in the red.
Third straight bomb for Rachel Zegler.
It's been 2 weeks, ffs. It could have legs
shareIt’s made over $246M worldwide so far. The budget was $100M.
shareRight now it’s at just over $291 million after being in theaters for a month. That makes it a flop so far.
It cost $100 million to make and reportedly needs to make $300 million just to break even when you add marketing and other expenses.
That makes it the lowest-grossing installment in the franchise. I’ll be shocked if they make another one. Studios love huge profits.
This is Rachel Zegler’s third flop BTW. Every film she’s starred in has failed at the box office.
No doubt Snow White will too. So her career is looking bleak.
It will be forgotten as fast as the book was soon after release. Doesn't matter if it was a financial "success" in theaters, considering nobody really cares or is showing any interest.
