What?!

No charges are filed against the girl for sitting outside in an SUV while her friends rob a jewelry store, and then driving them away after?!

What?! What's to stop her fom just leaving after they went inside?

NO CHARGES?! B.S. At least some kind of misdemeanor with probation for aiding and abetting or something. No way in hell would she get off scott-free.

Maybe that's how it works in Canadian Law?

Well, yes, especially in TV-movie Canadian law. Under the Joint Venture Doctrine the girl could be charged only if she *agreed* to commit a crime with the others. Since she insisted she wasn't aware of any crime being committed and her ex-boyfriend corroborated her story, she could definitely get off. Besides, the prosecution had their principle suspect dead and the other suspect in custody, and with the family connection, her age, and lack of a criminal record, they would be inclined to show mercy.
