Bad Canadian films

It's almost certain that if I'm watching one of the worst movies in existence, such as this one, the end credits will include the Canada (and various provincial) logos. It's embarrassing for me as a Canadian, and presents a bad image of Canadian film-making to the rest of the world. I am writing to my Member of Parliament to stop this.

Don't feel bad. Most Canadian films are guilty pleasures. "My Daughter's Secret" was awful, but how can anyone not enjoy watching it?

One Canadian film I enjoyed was Last Exit, which was a movie about road rage. Suspenseful, at times funny (car bashing scene) and tragic - a decent drama to watch . While I agree that My Daughter's Secret wasn't exactly the best movie in the world, one needs to keep in mind that it WAS a tv movie and most of those are low budget; the US ones are not exactly cinematic masterpieces either.

I have had similar experiences. Not because the films are bad necessarily, but because the actors are. Off in the looks department too. That's only because it's a smaller industry. The pikins are slim compared to Hollywood.

Or, because a lot of the hot Canadian actors are now in Hollywood...

There are a lot of excellent Canadian films made each year but we can't see any of them in theatres. Made-for-TV crap like My Daughter's Secret is bad in any country.
