This movie beats 'All About Steve' for worst comedy of 2009
"Made For Each Other (2009)" is not funny. It is not ha-ha funny, it is not campy funny, it is pure agony not funny.

Are you kidding? I rate it just as funny as Hangover. Obviously you are not into raunchy comedies. I found the Waterworld Fabio character hilarious in a stupid funny way. All About Steve is crap and is worst comedy for the year. This is defnitely not in the same league as that crap.
share@stefan899,
You're quite wrong about my affinity toward raunchy comedies. I liked "Hangover" quite a lot and "Not Another Teenage Movie" is one of my all time favorites. I'm not a cinesnob who needs every movie to change the history of filmmaking as we know it, and I appreciate a well told fart joke as well as any 3rd-grader.
To be fair, I reflected on this movie a bit and came up with some quick notes as to why "Made For Each Other" is such a lousy movie:
1) Unconvincing, unsympathetic characters in unbelievable situations:
a) stiff dialogue compounded with even stiffer acting through out the film,
b) The lead guy has divorced parents that live together? The lead guy works for his father-in-law and his sister-in-law, but his wife works as a receptionist or secretary somewhere else?
c) Every setup tries to be funny by having all the funny elements present but something always goes awry and the scene ends up being just lame: the bachelor party, "Waterworld, The Musical", suicide picnic…literally, just about every scene
2) Heavy-handed "let me spell it out for you" comedy:
a) old couple having anal sex, midget tossing and old-lady-in-wheelchair rolls into lake,
b) all the guys with chicken grease on all of their faces in the all guys' diner
c) the agonizing, "pussy and dick" argument scene in the car…O.M.G!
3) Amateurish writing, pedestrian direction and uninspired cinematography
All in all, "Made For Each Other" ends up looking like and sounding like a junior school production. If you saw the poster for this movie, you've seen the best thing it has to offer.
BTW, some commenters here @ imdb are noting the similarity between the plot of this movie and that of "Extract". In my opinion, "Extract" was by far a much better movie.
I can't agree enough.
I was really disappointed with this flick, it's no wonder they had trouble getting a release.
The poor acting/casting, directing and even the shockingly poor editing paled in comparison to my shock and disbelief when some of the scenes were completely out of focus. Even the focus puller couldn't be bothered. Why this got a Blu-Ray release is beyond me.
I still can't believe Pat Warburton was attached to this. I'd hoped he had better taste in scripts but clearly not.
Worst film I've seen in years.
I think you are being a bit too serious on the movie. You are dissecting like it is heavy handed drama. You are criticizing what most comedies are about. How many successful comedies have unconvincing, umsympathetic characters in unbelievable situations? Lots. National Lampoons Chevy Chase movies for example. I couldnt care less about Chevy Chase and his family in all the unbelievable situations they were in, but it was still funny. There are only a few comedies where the characters are sympathetic - The Birdcage and The Truman Show as an example.
And your point about heavy-handed "let me spell it out for you" comedy. I cant think of anything more obvious than the Scary Movie series and Borat and Bruno as an example yet they are both funny and successful. Every scene is in your face and forces you to laugh at the outrageous antics.
I'm not going to get all in depth or anything but I found it to be a funny light-hearted movie! I enjoyed it! I actually liked it better than the Extract movie that others are comparing it to. The only funny thing about Extract was the annoying neighbor who wouldn't go away. I love Danny Masterson's commercial!! It was hilarious how he started to say something and then the camera repeats what he started saying from a different angle!! Great! This movie can't be taken seriously at all. It's just good fun.
