Look again--it's Martin Scorsese!

I'm "working away" on my laptop this evening while Leonardo DiCaprio and director Martin Scorsese are on Charlie Rose program sharing their thoughts on the upcoming "The Wolf Of Wall Street"... At the same time, Amazon is having a Lightning Deal on a version of "Up" Blu-ray... All of a sudden, I look up to the TV screen, and there's Martin Scorsese, up close--as Carl, in all his glory, white hair and black frame rectangular glasses et al...

Funny ... and kinda scary...

Ed Asner is very much alive -- and still kicking! :-)

He's modeled on Spencer Tracy in Guess Who's Coming To Dinner

I too immediately saw the resemblance to Spencer Tracy in "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner."

I thought that Muntz looked like Kirk Douglas.

And young Carl looks a lot like Ralphie in "A Christmas Story."

reply

Haha, I can definitely see those resemblances.

What about Walter Matthau ?

I dont think pete or doc wanna matthau to be in this movie. Tracy is far more classier than matthau.
