Disney's Rework Elements of 'Black Hole' in 'UP'

Spoilers of course...

1) Maximillian == Is exactly identical to == Alpha (Even the same red look, and mannerisms)

2) Charles Muntz == Is exactly identical to == Dr. Hans ReinHardt (Even Germanish?)
Both are eccentric-rich guys that built something extravagant, and was shunned by the world that they left. They were both presumed dead. But no one really knew how far they were willing to go...

3) Bob = Dug ... The broken robot that helped the guys out in the Black-hole, seems quite similar to Dug. Because Dug was supposed to be one of Alpha's minions, but failed. Also Alpha had a special place in his cold-heart for Dug. Same with 'Bob'. Bob was also a robot that was supposed to be working for the dark-side.

4) Carl ... Since his hero was Muntz, he is a bit like: Alex Durant, but has the appearance and similar voice of 'Harry Booth' (Ernst Borgnine) Both Alex and Carl idealized the antagonists of the story all of their lives, believing that they were dead. Ever believing to the last, that the antagonists were still good guys.

5) The zombies in the Black Hole = The Robot-Assisted-Dogs in UP. This enabled Dug to talk, but it also controlled the dogs minds or something.

6) The Cygnus = Muntz Ship - Both were fantastical impressive ships that were built by inventors capable of holding their own, way ahead of their time technologically.

7) There were several scenes that were the same. For instance the uneasy 'Dinner scene' was identical. Filled with double entendres, that only adults would figure out what was really happening. They had a discussion about ideologies. Then in both movies it goes quickly from there, the characters discover the truth.

8) The goal of both movies was similar. The fantastical heaven-hell ending of Black-Hole albeit dorky also finds some similarity to the ending in UP with the resting place of the balloon ship. Paradise Falls = Heaven?? The goal of Black-Hole was to investigate and find the 'Black Hole' --- "In Through and... Beyond!" - What is there? The Cygnus was designed to do just that - Reinhart thought he could find Paradise. The goal in 'Up' was to find 'Paradise Falls'.
