Soon nothing will be allowed in comedy. What happened tonight will have a chilling affect like not seen. Some will joke about it, but the thought of being battered for a joke will now be present until some very powerful comedians take a stand and declare all this off limits crap has gone too far.
Imagine if Lenny Bruce or even Don Rickles were stiil around...
It's a shame, but at the same time, it'll likely generate a slew of other comedians tearing WS/JPS a new one (if only to bait similar controversy/publicity)
Of course, had Chris Rock been a 6ft 5 bodybuilder, I doubt either 'Smith' would have been as offended?

shareWill Smith is singlehandedly making this show more woke. Wasn't it he who complained that there weren't enough black nominees the one year and made a statement by not attending, causing The Oscars to reassess their nomination process. Now he's going cause them to reassess what comedians they'll have on and/or how far jokes will be allowed to go.
shareI used to enjoy watching award preshows because people like Mr. Blackwell and Joan Rivers used to rip on the ugly clothes. Then, that became unpopular because it wasn't "nice". Now, jokes about the celebs won't be allowed. Sheesh!

And on the other hand, he is also a loser in this because, after last night, he will NEVER be asked to host the Oscars because of the chilling effect of this.
The remedy for this is next year the Academy says "fuck it" and brings in Ricky Gervais, unrestrained and uncensored.
