The Iron Mask Would Have Killed Him Anyway?

I'm sure this was a medieval torture method, but encasing your head in flaming metal would fry your brain pretty damn quick, but it seems their intention was not to kill him, just to shame him by not being allowed to show his face.

I mean dayum, they could have just PUT a non-heated mask on which would have the same effect, but not kill him.

If I'm not mistaken part of the reason it is heated is so it could seal itself to the wearers face and never be removed.

A boat that floats on water can also sink in it.
