He was only stabbed and then fell in water...no body recovered...almost always means that that character is not dead haha

Oracle's got it right. Falling in water and never being seen again is scriptwriter-speak for 'prepped for sequel'.

they'll be chiseling him out of a block of ice (which sank....) before the opening credits of the sequel

They purposely left his ending a mystery because they wanted the option of bringing him back for the sequel. I believe that he's signed on for all three movies.
