Don't Believe the only 3 cast members rumors!!!

I think this is all *beep* and I am not going to believe this rumor until an official announcement is made. No one will see the sequel if the plotlines and charachters of the first film are dropped. It is that simple. No Cobra Commander? No Destro? No Zartan as President?

This franchise commits suicide if we only have Duke and the two ninjas. The general public will be very confused and pissed off if this happens. I believe Nichols is just messing with the fans.

Ok, these are the main reasons why I agree with you and would just treat this as a rumour. I'd say that Scarlet is the only one that will definitely not coming back at this point (but I don't think Nichols is messing with fans - that doesn't make much sense).

1. Nichols is most likely just repeating second hand info: If she's not in the film, it's doubtful that she's actually read the script at this point. Obviously she knows that her character is not in the film, but beyond that she has to rely on what someone has told her about who IS in the sequel. The person she heard this from may not have even read the script (and is just repeating his or her own second hand info) or may be exaggerating who is and isn't returning). She may have talked to other castmates, but I doubt she's confirmed with every single member of the first film's cast who is and isn't returning.

2. Nichols is most likely pissed that she is not returning in the sequel to a hit film, so anything she says may be an exaggeration.

I can honestly say that I truly believe that Nichols is telling the truth here, and is correct. That does not rule out cameos by some of the actors though, which can be offered and added to the first draft original script at any time.

If this is the first draft to the script, it can easily and will most likely be changed, edited, altered, etc. Some other characters could be back.

If they only bring back the 3 characters noted, the film will be a mess, and will be ignoring what made the first film fun, and what it built.

The original directer not returning may also have had an impact on who will be returning.

How is the sequel going to explain the Cobra infultration of the White House, let alone why every established Cobra character in the first film will be gone?

Don't get me started on not having Scarlett in the sequel....

If Scarlett or the Baroness are not in this film, I will not be watching. The fun of G.I. Joe for me was the host of different characters. I hope this information is wrong. It it is not, then HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE idea!

I'd treat this as a rumor only. Sounds like no actors have read the script yet.

Sarlett ?? probably would be back but I think they are making some changes, see below...

Joe 2 was orginally set to start shooting in December 2009. Bad reviews forced them to drop their current script & they got the zombieland writters to redo the script.

Because of the schedule change (& more importantly the script not being green lit) The actors went on to do other things (They need to work.) They are contracted out to do the sequals, but the production can only use the actors' when their schedule allows. (Which normally this isn't a problem.) JGL will be doing Batman 3, Inception 2 & whatever else is on his plate, so he may not want to come back. (Speculation only at this point)

Now they are in the process of figuring out who will be back, who won't. (I bet someone won't be)

I suspect based on Miller's comments they are re-writing parts, which will allow more charactors but we will not see someone who was in part 1.

It'd be easy to replace JGL as C.C., though as his face is hidden. It woulnd't surpise me if they use most the characters from the first as very minor roles since they may be looking to add more Joes's in the picture without making it feel too crowded, but not coming back at all??? I don't thin that'll happen.

it's stating actors who are reprising their roles.. it doesn't mean that other character will not come back. it just means that we may not get the same actors.

personally, i think they just need to consider a reboot and start fresh.

what fans would be mad? There are no fans, there is no tv show so no community. Same thing happened to star trek. With no fans their just movies, he can do anything with the movie and characters and he seems to be having a good time doing it.

START THE REVOLUTION! SHRED THE GOVERNMENT! My favorite movie is V for Vendetta.
