Same Old, Same Old (Kate)

For Dane Cook, I understand this type of movie. He's done several movies with the same type of character, just a different movie title. But Dane's a comedian.

However, Jason Briggs and Kate Hudson like to call themselves actors. If this is so, then they both went to the same 1-dimensional acting school that must turnover cheesy romantic comedy role players every other week. Kate has graduated into the 'elite' tier of actresses, but based on what? She's in there simply because of her family tree. What exactly has she done? Fool's Gold? How to Lose a Guy? Bride Wars? Same character, too many different movies. And my guess, is that she thinks her acting and her movies are pretty good. But it's always her co-stars that carry the film to the end. Jason Briggs has the same typecast in every movie, but for some reason, I think he'd at least be able to admit to it unlike Ms. A-Rod, I mean Ms. Hudson.

It's just tiring to rent another movie expecting to see something a little different then the last cookie-cutter movie checked out, only to be disapointed yet again.

Without Dane Cook and Alec Baldwin in this film, if flops harder then Gigli.

I love Dane, Kate, Jason and Alec....so that's half the battle right there, LOL.

Hope it's good :))

I have to agree with stelly25. I have watched a few of Kate Hudson' movies (there wasn't anything else) and she hasn't really done anything 'out of the ordinary'. Like you said, I keep seeing her in the same type of movie with the same type of role. Perhaps she's gunning for the title of 'America's Sweetheart' since the 'demise' of Meg Ryan's title onscreen but even Meg Ryan did romantic comedies playing different characters.

I also don't get why Hollywood has to keep on churning these mindless romantic comedies. I am all for them, god knows we don't need dark depressing movies all the time but it's been a long time since I watched a romantic movie which is both funny and has some sort of depth that it doesn't really cut across the board as being really bad, like this movie.

I think the Hollywood media has been premature in their accolades of Kate Hudson simply because she's GH's daughter. From the way I see it, she has a long way to go before she can prove she's even worthy of all the attention but then again, it is Hollywood.

She was good in Almost Famous.

Sorry you feel that way, I like Kate Hudson. Maybe this will help.

If you if you want to see a different Kate and haven't see Skeleton Key ... Rent or buy it. The movie is awesome. Creepy, but not too scary, not gory at all - set in New Orleans, deals with hoo doo. Gena Rowlands is in it too and an excellent nemesis to Kate H.

Thats almost hysterical that your choice of evidence that Katie Hudson is a good actor is Skeleton Key lolololol. Now she wasn't bad in Almost famous but she has played the same character in every movie since. Same romantic comedy character that is 100% correct.
