Yes I didn't get that 80s music thing either. In spite of this oddity, I would say the film had some funny moments and the entire scene at the strip club was a pleasure to watch. Also, I must be getting easy to please in my older age because I couldn't stop ogling Kate Hudson's hot body throughout the movie in spite of all this talk of her having small breasts.
