Three issues
1. The "parlay" was completely unbelievable. Why would these hyper-analysts include in a bet something that they knew absolutely nothing about? It was plainly just formula writing: the girl and the father are the two most important people in the protagonist's life so they each need to have a big win for the film to be able to finish and the parlay is going to enable that. And it was so obviously what was going to happen from that point forward.
2. Putting two people with serious mental illness difficulties in a relationship is probably not that hot an idea. I know a couple like that who moved away from everyone to go live in the woods because "nobody understands us" and one of them ended up committing suicide after the other one completely missed all the signs.
3. Needed more Julia Stiles, definitely!
