so love cures..........

mental illness?

People with mental illness are often very isolated. Shunned, even. It's not a cure, but it sure does help if you have the support of your family, friends, employers, and communities.

Both the leads are taking a pro-active stance in battling their problems. And just because you have these afflictions, doesnt mean you dont long for and feel love like everyone else. Doesnt love help everybody ? Isn't it better to have someone holding your hand as you navigate through it?

We only see a snapshot at the end. It doesn't mean they are cured. They will have their ups and downs like all people do. But they've got a better than most chance of making it because they've got so much support and love in their lives.

I am all for love and support. But Pat stopped taking his medications cold turkey. I am not sure that is the right message.

Pat went back on his medications the morning after the wedding video episode.

I think the movie would have been better if we knew more about Pat before he found out his wife was fooling around. He was in an institution and was on a strong anti-psychotic (Seroquel). He must have a history of mental issues before the shower incident. I thought the movie was a little simplistic.
