Explain to me what was so great about this movie and the acting
I feel that I am surely missing something. Thanks.
shareI feel that I am surely missing something. Thanks.

shareTwo things. JLaw's breasts.
"'Extremely High Voltage.' Well, I don't need safety gloves, because I'm Homer Simppppp--" - Frank Grimes
As far as Rom-Coms go, this one has a different twist. I thought it was excellent.
shareIt's just people's opinion. I've hated plenty of movies that were deemed popular and groundbreaking. I, however, loved this movie. That is my opinion :)
sharebut what exactly was good about it? i feel like i'm missing something.
shareWell, I can't speak for everyone but I liked it because it wasn't like any movie I've seen before (I enjoy like unique story lines).
I thought the casting and acting was great. Each character was believable, imo. They delivered their lines well. I.e. Pat's breakdowns. I've never seen Bradley Cooper act like that, it was very surprising to see him in this type of role. I also like actors that can completely transform into a new role than what they're used to or "type-casted."
I also liked it because I feel as if certain people can relate to this movie when it comes to mental illness. I, myself, suffer from severe anxiety/ panic attacks at random moments. I've had it since I was about 10 years old. This movie relates to me on a personal level. I think that's why this movie is one of my favorites.
Those are just some of my reasons. Again, it's only an opinion. I felt like I was missing something when people tried to tell me Bridesmaids was a good movie. I still don't get what's so great about that movie lol
Thank you for sharing. I think maybe I would have just seen it as an okay middling Rom-com with some good moments here and there, but I was astonished that it should have critical acclaim and win an Oscar.
shareYeah I would agree that it's a great movie, but I don't think it's Oscar winning. Maybe if it was more of an independent film, then that would make sense.
shareWhy it's great movie?
This movie makes me and other feel good without the feeling that someone belittling your intelligence, like happen in many romantic movies. And you don't see many optimistic movies anymore, without cynicism, which emphasizes the good in people, when was the last movie you remember movie style Amélie or It's a Wonderful Life?
Also, it's not easy to make film like this, it's look easy in first impression, but when you think at this, it's not easy at all. It's not easy to make a comedy/romantic movie about characters who suffer from psychological problems but they do it perfectly. I love the script, the great chemistry between the actors and the most important the aspect that define great movies, there's unforgettable moments in this movie.
I never know how to explain good acting, the only can say is that I feel the characters, I identified with them and more important, although many stars participate in this movie, I forgot about actors and focus only at the characters.
I felt it ended up being some kind of romantic comedy but without too much cheesy stuff; that's the reason it's a good movie.
I guess critics, people, awards' jury... want love stories, but not the cheesy ones that Anne Hathaway, Reese Witherspoon or Jennifer Aniston usually make. :)
Not an amazing movie, though. Just fine.
how would your summarize the movie?
