Eagle home games were so raucous with so much violence and misbehavior from the fans, the city of Philadelphia actually set up a judge, jail and court right on site during the 1997 season. They could instantly arraign, try and sentence anyone who was arrested. And the cops didn't have to drive them anywhere, they cuffed the miscreants and marched them straight into the stadium courtroom for a quick trial and sentence.
The following year the court was moved to a nearby police precinct where it stayed until 2003. But the Philly reputation, already considered worst in the NFL, was cemented for all time.
I've never been to an Eagles game, but have seen NFL contests in Denver, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Houston, Indianapolis and Detroit. Detroit was the absolute worst for drunken violence, not even close to the rest and way beyond even what was shown in Silver Linings Playbook. I would hesitate to take my wife or kids to any NFL game and never one in Detroit, Philadelphia, Oakland, Jacksonville or Baltimore, probably not NY or New England either, even if heavily armed.
