i have been invited to see this movie on thursday to give my opinions on it. I have never done this before, i assume they do screenings like this to gage public opinion to see if it will be well recieved or not. does anyone know if this is common practice with all movies?

I think it is pretty common. Are you in a test group? Where are you seeing it?
sharei have no idea, they just showed me a list of films, asked me if had seen at least 3 of them (i had seen 18!) and then gave me a slip to book a place. I think they want your comments on it, it is pretty cool to be able to see a movie, say which bits you would have altered and then it might actually get altered. I realise my comments probably wont make much difference but i will be brutally honest.

im seeing it next thrusday (24th) at the Wimbledon Odeon! i go to art school there and always walk through the town cetre and get approched by people id say at least once a month, got asked to see St Trinians and some othe rfilm too last year
