Can you say, 'A Good Year'.....

Some "hot shot" returning back to the place he spent his summers after the death of somebody important in his life, which makes him flash back to his past, leading to his self-discovery...

Why ever does this remind me of the 2006 Russell Crowe/Albert Finney/Freddie Highmore movie?

Ever the posters bare a resemblance!

Really? I thought this movie used to be called "Stealing Home" with Mark Harmon and Jodie Foster. Alcoholic narcissistic man (Mark) is called back to his seaside home after the suicide of his best friend (Jodie), where he confronts his past ways & realizes how to put her wild spirit at ease. Yawn.

yeah the basic plot for this movie seems to be reused a lot.

If you want to see a terrific parallel film that's even more powerful than this one (which couldn't be more different than "A Good Year" in tone and seriousness of theme and plot), catch "Waterland", which stars Jeremy Irons, Sinead Cusack (his then wife) and Ethan Hawke.
