I liked it, but...
I don't see it quite good enough for a best-picture Oscar, though it wouldn't surprise me if it won. It's the feel-good kind of movie that Oscar loves.
I read somewhere that it was an alternate take on Leave No Trace (2018, starring Ben Foster and Thomasin McKenzie), which, to me, was a better, more nuanced movie. Rotten Tomatoes had it at 100%, and Roger Ebert's website and the New York Times gave it rave reviews.
I gave Leave No Trace 8.5/10, while CODA, to me, is a 7.5/10.
