Remakes
So I see a minority opinion forming saying hey give it a try and you shouldn't judge this film before its out. To a point I think its fair point.
However I can also see people believing it does not need to be remade. Which is also a fair point.
I personally hate remakes as they rarely can even be in the same ball park as the original as hollywood and other producers of today lack the balls, conviction, and creativity to do something different on its own heavily inspired or in the same universe as the film they are trying to remake.
Look at the thing originally the studio wanted a remake they were convinced to do a prequel a far better idea of not scrapping Carpenter's film but to add on to it. Hindsight being 20/20 it was a great idea while the execution could've been better it was better than the alternative.
So my challenge is please name a remake that beat the original besides John Carpenter's the Thing which wasn't a direct remake but still a remake.
If remakes are a good idea and we should just give it a chance please name me only one remake that was better and why you think it is.
